FBDS

Walfredo Schindler: FBDS Executive Director, is a civil engineer from PUC Rio de Janeiro, a postgraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from the same university. He worked for 16 years at the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES), acting as head of different directorships, administrations and departments. He has dozens of extension courses in administration and finance, industrial projects, environment, forest projects, risk management and negotiation, among other topics. He is Director of SEMA – Environmental and Sustainability Services Ltd., having coordinated the execution of approximately 100 projects developed during this period, in the areas of Global Climate Change, Carbon Credit Projects, Carbon Management, water resources management, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, among others.

Liana Gemunder: Executive Secretary. Postgraduate in Hospitality at Ecôle Hôtelière de Lausanne (Switzerland) and Bachelor in Tourism. Since 1995, she has worked as executive secretary at FBDS, being responsible for advising directors and CEO; organising events; preparing correspondence and reports; identify the issues to be addressed for forwarding to the respective sectors of the institution and coordinate the activities of the administrative area.

Luís Saporta: Director of Programs and Projects in FBDS. He has also worked at the Foundation as a researcher and project manager since 2008. He is an environmental economist a degree in Economic Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2005), a master’s degree in Economics from EPGE/FGV (2008) and a PhD in Energy Planning from COPPE / UFRJ (2017). He has developed research in the areas of climate change, renewable energy, corporate strategies on climate change, environmental public policies and social investments in infrastructure projects.

Rafaela Silva: PhD in Ecology and Biodiversity from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Master in Agroecology and Rural Development from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Bachelor in Ecology also from UNESP and post-graduate in Project Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). She has extensive experience in developing projects and activities related to biodiversity conservation, emphasis on project management, environmental policies and ecosystem services.

Thais Mattos: PhD candidate in the Energy Planning Program at COPPE/UFRJ, holds a master’s degree in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ (2018) and a degree in Environmental Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2011). She has been working at FBDS for 10 years on several environmental and climate change projects. Holds a diploma in carbon footprint from CarbonTrust (London), in its methodology PAS 2050 and a training course in VBA for Excel from PUC-RJ.

Carlos Alberto Alves: Business administrator a post-graduate degree in Accounting. He has worked as a controller in FBDS since 2004, being responsible for the Administrative and Financial sector, as well as the rendering of accounts to the Public Ministry. He worked as an Accounting Manager at Brahma Beer Company-AMBEV for 20 years and as a Controllership Manager at Telemar for about 5 years.
